Millions of children – especially the 32.4 million growing up in low-income families—are not being taught how to eat or cook healthy. The results have been catastrophic. Today, 16 million children face hunger in the United States and one in three are overweight or obese.

While obesity occurs across the entire population, low-income families are more likely to suffer from weight-related health problems due to the increased risk factors associated with poverty.
