According to the Brookings Institution, two in five mothers with children under the age of 12 are facing food insecurity and hunger, nearly twice the rate of the general population. Common Threads is a national nonprofit that is providing virtual cooking and nutrition education programming during COVID-19 to help families in under-resourced communities make healthy and affordable food decisions in the grocery store, kitchen, and at the dinner table.

In case you were not able to join us live, take a look at the recording of our virtual event available on Common Threads’ YouTube channel.

During this event, members of the Common Threads family spoke about the current state of hunger and food insecurity, highlight our organization’s innovative approach in addressing hunger and food security during COVID-19.

This event was held in hopes to raise $10,000 (plus a $10,000 match from Zoom) on this Giving Tuesday. An we are excited to announce that we were able to exceed our fundraising goal raising $50,874 with the match from Zoom!
